Baginbun Bay - Wexford Ireland

Baginbun Bay is the place of the second Anglo-Norman invasion landing in early May 1170 while the first Anglo-Norman invasion landed at Bannow bay in 1169. Baginbun bay was chosen as there was an ancient Irish promontory fort that could serve well as a temporary defensive camp before moving onto Waterford attack. The invasion consisted of just around 80 men led by Raymond le Gros. Baginbun bay is easy accessible.
